What application does RPI use?
Rensselaer offers two rounds of Early Decision applications, EDI and EDII.
How do I waive health insurance RPI?
Part-time students can voluntarily enroll in the RPI/CDPHP health insurance plan via the waiver/enrollment form found on the Health Portal (see above). Please email [email protected] to request that the enrollment form be sent to your portal account.
What do I need to bring to RPI?
Essentials
- Clothes and shoes (consider space-saving hangers)
- Bedding and pillow (twin XL sheets, except for students in City Station South, City Station West, and Polytechnic, who will need full/double sheets.
- Toiletries, hygiene products, and bath towels.
- Laundry: detergent, dryer sheets (if you use them), pop-up hamper.

Pets ( except fish with a 10 gallon tank size limit ). Refrigerators and micro-fridges must be adequately ventilated, 6.0 cu. ft. or less in size, and plugged directly into a wall socket. Appliances that are not Underwriters’ Laboratory (UL) approved and those that contain an exposed heating element are not permitted.
Does RPI give good financial aid?
Furthermore, RPI has a strong financial aid program. The lower your income is, the more help you can expect to receive in need-based grants.
