Is UC ship free?
StudentHealth is a free app that allows UC SHIP members and their dependents to access plan ID cards and benefits information from their mobile devices.
Does financial aid pay for UC ship?
Will financial aid pay for my UC SHIP? For some students, the cost of UC SHIP’s premium is included in your financial aid award. Check your financial aid package or review it in the My UCSC Portal Student Services section. You can also contact the UCSC Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.
How much is UCSC UC?
It’s a convenient, inexpensive solution for busy students seeking on-campus health care. The fee is $125.00 per quarter.
Does UC Santa Cruz have a gym?
The Wellness Center is our main gym on campus and is located on the East side. UCSC students are allowed access to the gym with their student ID cards. The facility hours are subject to change but the gym is open 7 days a week.
How do I get a UC Ship grant?
Non-registered students and eligible dependents may enroll in UC SHIP after a Qualifying Life Event by contacting AHP at [email protected] and providing proof of the Qualifying Life Event.
Does UC ship cover therapy?
UC SHIP includes benefits for mental or nervous disorders and substance abuse. A written referral from SHS or Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is required prior to all non-emergency treatment. You will incur some out-of-pocket expenses for services rendered outside SHS or CAPS.
Does UC ship cover ambulance?
Emergency/Urgent Care/Ambulance Students covered by UC SHIP will need to provide the facility with their Anthem Blue Cross ID card. Services must meet the “emergency” definition according to the UC SHIP Medical Benefits Booklet.
Does fafsa cover health insurance?
Is it included in tuition? A: No. The health insurance will be listed separately from the tuition on your bill. If you see college costs listed on your financial aid offer, you may not see the health insurance charge, but it could still be included in your fall semester bill.
Is Ucship a PPO or HMO?
UC SHIP engages Anthem’s broad PPO network of providers when a student health clinician issues a referral for care outside the student health center. UC students have convenient access to primary medical care and psychological services and free preventive services right on campus where students attend classes.
How long does Ucship last after graduation?
Recent Grads Your coverage continues after graduation until the day before the next academic term begins. If you graduate during spring term, your coverage continues through the summer until the day before the start of the next fall term. You can purchase UC SHIP coverage for one additional coverage period (term).
Is Ucship Medicare?
UC SHIP is recognized by the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) as Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC), in compliance with the ACA. This means UC SHIP members meet the ACA individual mandate. (View a quick guide to the ACA.)
Where is Ucship accepted?
Because all UC students are required to have medical insurance, UC automatically enrolls registered students at the Davis, Hastings College of the Law, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, San Diego and San Francisco campuses in UC SHIP each academic year.
Is Ucship private insurance?
UC SHIP is a self-funded, comprehensive health insurance program for registered UCI undergraduate and graduate students that is underwritten and administered by the Regents of the University of California. The plan includes medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental and vision benefits.
