7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. (Closed 1-2 p.m.)
Does JMU require Covid test?
The option to leave quarantine after 7 days requires a negative COVID-19 test on or after day 5. The option to leave quarantine after 10 days does not require any testing. The JMU Health center is also applying risk level to the type of contact to determine if 7, 10 or even 14 days of quarantine is best.

Where can a student get birth control? Prescriptions can be received from the Women’s Health Clinic. Medications, Prescriptions, and the UHC Pharmacy
- The student may take their written prescription to a local pharmacy.
- Parents/Families may choose to send the written prescription or medication directly to the student.
How do I report myself to JMU?
Complete the Self-Report form through MyJMUChart. If you have questions, please contact the University Health Center. Wear your mask and stay away from others. Virginia Department of Health will contact you, please answer your phone and provide information as necessary.

Why is JMU closing?
Due to inclement weather, James Madison University will be closing at 10 a.m. today (Dec. 16). Information about COVID-19 can still be found on the Stop the Spread website. Students already scheduled to take exams virtually on Wednesday will proceed as scheduled, despite the university closing early.
Are JMU classes in person?
Dear JMU Community, I am delighted to share the good news that James Madison University is planning for the Fall 2021 semester to be held in person. We fully anticipate health precautions, such as isolation space and testing, to remain in place for the Fall 2021 semester.
Is JMU going back after Thanksgiving?
After Thanksgiving break, all courses and exams will move online for the remainder of the semester, and all exams will be online. Campus will remain open for students who choose to return to JMU, but this will not be mandatory. More details will be available by Sept 25.

Do you have to live on campus freshman year at JMU?
All first year students are required to live in university residence halls for the entirety of their first academic year at James Madison University (fall and spring semesters). First year students that join JMU in the spring will be housed only for the spring semester.

Does JMU have a pharmacy?
The University Health Center Pharmacy is staffed by a licensed pharmacist and pharmacy technician. It offers prescription medications from the health center formulary for JMU students written by licensed medical providers from the University Health Center, Counseling Center, and Intercollegiate Athletics.
